List-Unsubscribe and the gmail web interface

Asked byerik johnson

Good day!
We plan to send mailing partners, decided to take advice from the following post habrahabr.ru/blogs/google/101440/ and use the List-Unsubscribe header. But when sending a letter to spam, unsubscribing does not occur, there is no dialogue with the proposal to unsubscribe, the letter just goes to spam.
There was a following question, is this article relevant? If anyone knows a mailing list with this header and correct processing of gmail, please give a link. I would also be grateful for any advice. Headlines below. Thank you!

I have the same problem. The http-link in the header of the List-Unsubscribe, as I understand it, is not mandatory, it suffices to specify mailto. In any case, it does not help. On a Google blog write:
This only works for some senders right now. We’re 100% should. You can’t really want to send you a spam. So you’re not sure you’re an honor. We're being pretty conservative about over time, we hope to offer an unsubscribe from more email.

P.S. in the List-Unsubscribe should be a URL, which without any additional action by the user will unsubscribe him from the mailing list, that is, open links = unsubscribe - ian nebbiolo
Thank you, it turns out then the screenshot from the article is not relevant? just when sending to spam does not offer to unsubscribe ( - mrs lynch

Maybe already irrelevant, but still answer. Himself faced with such a question. And I have the answer.

Gmail does not offer unsubscribe due to countermeasures against spam. That is, the mailer must first earn a reputation, and only then the recipients of your newsletter will be offered buttons with replies. Just imagine what a wonderful additional address verification channel for spammers would be if the reaction to the List-Unsubscribe addition was immediate. I was unable to calculate what criteria you need to meet and in what time frame for gmail to start offering unsubscribe.

You just have to wait. Over time, your script will drop requests (if you do not spam, of course). From experience I can say that, in addition to gmail, they also offer a formal reply to ukr.net and Yandex.
