Yes, and general impressions from experienced comrades are also interesting. Interests, since the only scripting language in my arsenal was PHP, for many reasons I want to give it up. The main candidate for his replacement - Groovy.

I liked the writing style. In addition, the book itself is small, and makes it possible to quickly start programming on the subject.

I highly recommend starting with an article on Habra link, it really helped me in the initial impetus to development. To solve work problems, I use the portal groovy.codehaus.org and section User+Guide - a lot of useful and clear examples.
